TFTs & Dead pixels / Mail order / Sheffield computer shops.
Are there any mail order companies happy to guarantee a screen with no dead
pixels, or does anyone know of a decent computer shop in Sheffield that's not hugely overpriced (ie, PC Worlds' joke £170 for a 15" panel and a kick in the nuts if it breaks)? |

Some will charge about £15 for this. Some do actually check, others don't bother but will accept the monitor back after *you* have checked it. FWIW, ViewSonic have a Zero defective pixel policy, only allowing some dead sub-pixels. I recently got two VX 912 19" monitors for £260 from Watford, whom I'd NEVER use again as they totally ignore CS emails. -- Cheers, Guy ** Stress - the condition brought about by having to ** resist the temptation to beat the living daylights ** out of someone who richly deserves it. |

I got an 19" Acer 1912 from Tesco for £180, although they don't have any specific Dead Pixel Policy, if you are unhappy with any item you can return for a refund, never had any dead pixels though and picture is good. -- ®ÖĞ Remove spamtrap to reply. |
