Default Dell Policy Forbids Spyware Removal Support

I never expected the computer manufacturers to help with the removal
of spyware anyway.

Excerpt:
If you or a family member receive a Dell PC as a gift this
Christmas, you may be in for a surprise, if it becomes infected
with spyware.

Dell has instituted what has to be the most misguided tech support
policy I have ever seen. Not only will Dell refuse to tell you how
to remove the spyware, they won't even refer you to web sites that
can help.

Why does Dell do this? Dell cites the possibility that removing
spyware might violate user agreements between the user and some
other company."

--------------------

Advertising companies using spyware have put the pressure on is
my guess. Like newbies who will have most of the new computers,
know what EULA's are, or how to understand them.

Another reference:

if it hasn't been removed already.

This is just typical of the "Dell Knockers" attitude, if you actually read
the article what it says is that Dell donot recommend or support spyware
removal software, -that is your responsability. How can Dell endorse this?
when they have no control over it and why should they open themselves upto
lawsuites coz you can bet your bottom dollar and then some that if someone
did use the said removal software and users being users it went wrong and
they lost data or just generally buggered up other software they would be
first in line with a multi dollar lawsuit saying " you told me to do it "

That is the only reseason and there is no alterier motive

This burns me up! The same thing happened when I called Ford about my
Kitchen Aid Blender that stopped working, they were no help.

Cheers,

Ned

OTOH, Ford did not place the blender in the middle of the front
windshield without asking you if you even wanted it, and then refused to
tell you how to safely remove it, did they?
