Model KX-P1124.
The rubber strip [3/8 X 15 inches] which backs up the paper under the print
head has finally deteriorated.
Before I experiment with a strip cu from an inner tube [seems a littel too
soft], is there a better replacement available?
Thank you.

Printer was made in 1991 and Panasonic no longer supports parts.

Printer otherwise fine and useful for continous paper.

Thanks.

There has to be a number of substitutes you can think of. In the bike
world, one of those spoke liners would be about the right width and
could be a bit harder than tube rubber. You would need to purchase a
new one that did not have indents from the spoke heads.

The ones that they say are from the old school before our modern era of computers.

I know.  I have one that has about 3 months use and then has been stored for many many years.  I do not know if I will ever need it again.

Here's a thought...Why not give it to the O.P? He obviously has a use
for it, or he wouldn't be asking the question. It would be better for
all concerned if it were used, wouldn't it? And just think... You gain
enough storage space that you can put that tired old ip4000 out to
pasture and buy a shiny, new, chipped-cartridge printer!

To the O.P. - I would NOT *buy* anything from Measekite. If he offers it
for free, or a REASONABLE shipping charge, well OK. Just remember he has
been proven to be a liar many times on this newsgroup, and his Panasonic
printer might not be exactly as described.

It is exactly as described. Got it as a gift and then also go an HP
Deskjet 500 shortly thereafter. It is essentially brand new. I do not
ever recall offering it for sale or offering to give it away for free.
The OP should go buy a new Okidata Dot Matrix as a first choice or
possible an Epson.

The Panasonic is a fine printer.

Read again, carefully. I did not say you made any offer. I merely
suggested that maybe you should. What you actually do is your business,
not mine.

Since it is none of your business then you should not make any
recommendations on my behalf because it is none of your business.
