Default Start Up problems

I built a pc using a foxcnn 6100 k8ma-rs mobo. but I am having to push
the power button to switch the computer on 2 may 3 times to get it to
boot up.

I have been in touch with foxconn and they told me to flash the bios but
the only trouble with that is that the version they told me to use is
older than the bios drivers that's on the mobo at present?

has anyone got any ideas, should i flash the bios?

what should I do?

going back a version or 2 could be worth a try............then at least you
can tell them you have tried it.

check all items are plugged in correctly.

remove unnecessary parts and try again

Yes, often just sliding in the HDD can cause a poor connection.

Worth checking also is the SATA-type power connector is very weak - the
plastic splits very easily and the lead/wires can be quite stiff. I had one
split - not easy to see fine cracks in black plastic.
