HL2 Infinite Loop nv4_disp
Greetings.
Hope someone here can help. I've been trying to play Half-Life 2 and have had nothing but problems. Which I find not only frustrating, but a bit perplexing. I'm using the same machine I used to play the game 6 months ago. Played the game all the way through and never had a crash or a lock-up, but this time around its nothing but. Been getting quite a lot of lock-ups / freezes when the game starts to load the next chapter or section. Most times I reboot, restart the game, and I'm fine for 30 minutes or more. But this time. This time I've run into a problem I can't get past. I'm stuck again at one of the moments when the game starts to load a new section (this one on the airboat just as you jump through the open panel of the dam. You hit the water, the Loading sign comes up, the hard disc goes round and round . . . I tried rebooting and restarting the game with exactly the same results. I updated my video card driver - same result. I ran Steam's diagnostic for freezing/sound looping, and everything checks out ok. One time I left the frozen screen for several minutes and came up with a blue screen with the following error: "nv4_disp Device Drive stuck in Infinite Loop" My system config is below. If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear about it. Because right now I can't play any more.
