Default AMD Athlon XP 2400+

I have a AMD Athlon XP 2400+ with 1.99 GHz, 512 MB of RAM. The board is
KT400-8235, Bus Clock: 133 megahertz, BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTS 6.00
PG 3/28/2003.

I am looking to upgrade this processor by a PC place and just wanted to know
my options here before I call. This is what the BeLarc Advisor says I
have in the computer.

Thanks
Mary

You're not going to get a lot more performance out of a CPU upgrade alone.
I'd either increase the clockspeed of the one you have or buy a new socket
754 MB (with PCI lock) and a socket 754 cpu of your choice. The 754
Semprons will overclock like crazy if you want to stay cheap. Don't even
consider a socket A Sempron CPU for your board.
