Default TUSL-2C POST problems

Hi

This is a great group with lots of info. However I didn't find the
answer to my current problem - will appreciate any help.

My 2 year old TUSL-2C developed a snag since the last power down. It
refuses to POST as is. The only way to make it POST is to remove the
CMOS battery. Then it POSTs and goes into bios - asks for setting
CPU speed but will not respond to keyboard. Possibly MB is fried - need
advice.

Detailed log of investigation:
1. Powered down Friday. Would not POST (beep) after that.Opened case.
LED on MB is on. Fans do not come on when power switch pressed.

2. Systematically removed components in order: sound card, ethernet
card, CDROM, DVD writer, floppy, HD, Video CARD, memory, CPU. Tested
after each stage. No POST.

3. Made sure Antec 350W PS,speaker etc is good.

4. Removed MB from case and placed on non-conductive surface. No POST.

5. Only way to POST is to remove CMOS battery. Replacing battery has no
effect. Both old and new battery have 3.02 V potential.

6. Clearing CMOS memory has no effect.

7. POST beeps indicate missing CPU/memory/Video card. Replaced in order.
Then POST beep is heard and BIOS asks for setting CPU speed. But doesn't
react to keyboard.

MB is 2 years old. No overclock, used for web/word processing.

Thanks for your help.

Regards
Deb

Yep, Going ahead with a RMA process. I hope I get a TUSL2-C back and I
don't have to reinstall the whole shenidagan all over again.
