Default Hard Drive Question

I recently installed a third hd on my system connected to a Maxtor ATA 100
PCI adapter card. The drive is recognized at boot-up and also shows up in
system info as working properly, but it doesn't show up in Windows
Explorer, My Computer, etc. I also have Partition Magic installed and the
drive shows up there as drive 3, but I can't do anything with it. What do I
need to do in order to be able to access the drive?

Thanks

Did you partition and format it?

If not, the Maxblast utilities floppy and/or CDROM will do that the
fastest, easily.

Thanks for the quick response. I did format it but I'll do it again. Will
I need to remove it and set it to master and format it in the primary IDE
or can I somehow do it from where it is now?

Thanks

Don't run Tweak UI do you? - If you do, goto the 'My Computer' tab and make
sure you are showing the drive in the list. This is changed via registry -
can't remember where. If you don't have tweakui then install it and check
anyway

I didn't have Tweak UI but I did download and install it and all the drive
letters are there. The drive works fine as a slave but not as a stand alone
drive, so I know it's not the drive itself. Thanks for mentioning Tweak UI
as it is a nice program on it's own.
