I don't know anything about Mobotix cameras, but I've used low-end Axis
cameras - the 205 and 206. Over a period of 3 years, I've found them to be
very reliable. The picture quality and general performance fully meets the
printed specifications, which is a rare thing in a low end camera. If you're
a programmer, they also have a nice HTTP-based API.

The pictures in the right-hand column at
http://www.sgurr.co.uk/lundycam/gallery.html were taken with a hacked-about
Axis 205 that has been sitting in an unheated spider-infested box for 3
years, and it's still taking good pictures.

As the Business Development Manager for MOBOTIX in UK you would expect
me to be biased. I would rather you make your own mind up.

It really depends what you want to do with it and how you want to use
it.

Is it for simple webcam use of more security?

MOBOTIX have NO MOVING PARTS and are extremely robust and reliable.

MOBOTIX is a pure DIGITAL signal, not analogue converted to digital
inside the camera. We are all familiar with the quality expected from
DIGITAL cameras as opposed to the "older style" analogue variants.

You can view LIVE examples of MOBOTIX cameras at www.mobotix.ro and
follow the link to LIVE cameras from all around the world.

With regards to cost, a MOBOTIX camera is a total solution whereas many
other cameras require special software to record, play back etc. With
MOBOTIX, everything is included inside the opperating system of the
camera.

You can get a lot more info from www.mobotix.com.

Best Regards

MIKE LEWIS BiCSi RCDD
MOBOTIX UK Country Manager & Business Development Manager..
