Also I read here about Fix length Packet Writing causes problems

Plain "packet writing" refers to a method of writing, like TAO or DAO
is. But all discs burned with packet writing method always use the UDF
file system. Thus "packet writing" became synonymous with UDF
"format".

Beware, though, the distinction between the format as SPECIFIED by the
udf standard and the format as IMPLEMENTED by the packet writing
softwares. Mike Richter, the Slimiest Friggin SOB, has been blaming the
format (as specified by the UDF standard) for the DirectCD and
Drag-to-Disc bugs -- the bugs in implementation. The DirectCD bugs are
the main reason why "packet writing" got the bad name. But Mike
Richter, the Slimiest Friggin SOB, turns the table around and spews that
"packet writing" gives DirectCD a bad name!!

"the fault is not with the software but with the format"

The format is fragile; the fault is not in the software per se.

In fact, the overwhelming majority of the complaints about
any UDF software are about the format, but the format is seen
through the software which gets the blame
