Old PCI graphics card in new computer
I've built a new computer that I will mainly use as a fileserver and
don't need any fast graphics. When I insert my Diamond Stealth S3 968 with 2Mb VRAM (from 1995!) in a PCI slot and turn the computer on, the display remains in stand-by mode. The card works in my older computer. When I try with a 2 year old AGP card everything works fine. Are there any changes I have to do in bios to make the PCI-card work? Or is the PCI-bus on my new motherboard not compatible with the old graphics card? My PCI networkcard works fine with the new motherboard... My hardwa Asus P4B533 Celeron 2,0GHz 256 Mb DDR PC2100 By the way: When I boot the computer I get a message: BIOS: BIOS update data incorrect. CPUID=00000F29. Anyone knows what this means? I've loaded setup defaults, but the message is still there... Thanks Fredrik |

Yes, I've tried two different PCI slots, and no AGP card at the same
time. PNP OS installed is NO. Where can I find the "Reset configuration data? Thank you for your time! Your bios may not have this option...
usually right with the PNP os setting....maybe different wordage? PNP OS installed is NO If it has been 'no' all along, try changing it to yes and give it a try. "Fredrik" wrote in message ... Hmm...still no luck. I'm going to borrow another PCI card tomorrow to
see if it's just the one I've got that doesn't work with this motherboard. you dont have a Win modem installed? 'Set IRQ for video' or something siimilar in bios? Video bios shadowing? change the
settings from what they are now to opposite(where applicable). "JAD" wrote in message nk.net... can't think of anything else... "Fredrik" wrote in message ... Hmm...still no luck.
