Default Intel raided in Korea

This is a press release from AMD, will post proper news articles when
they get published.

"The KFTC's dawn raids are part of an investigation into Intel's
business dealings with four South Korean PC makers. AMD continues to
believe -- as specified in its private U.S. antitrust complaint filed on
June 27, 2005 in U.S. federal court in Delaware -- that PC manufacturers
worldwide are victims of Intel's monopoly power."

Default Intel raided in Korea

Here's an early article about it. AMD calls it "a raid", Intel calls it
"a visit".

The nature of the raid in Seoul depends on one's perspective. AMD called the visit by the KFTC a dawn raid and used the terms "dawn raid" and "dawn raids" at least seven times in a press release. AMD also said news reports from Seoul indicated that the KFTC visited four or five other PC makers on Feb. 7 and 8.

An Intel representative described it somewhat differently. It was an unscheduled visit on Feb. 8, but it took place during business hours. The KFTC officials wanted further information and documentation on Intel's business practices, he said. Earlier in the year, Intel provided documents to the KFTC.
