Compaq Presario 1410 Monitor
I bought a very nice used monitor for $10. It is a Compaq Presario
1410 Monitor. But I don't know how to adjust picture width or height. At 640 by 480 24 true bit color everything is OK. When I try to go to 800 by 600, the picture is slightly larger than the screen. I can't figure out how to adjust picture size. There are only 3 knobs. They are for the adjustment of sound, brightness and contrast. I will appreciate any advise or info on how to adjust picture size, or advise on where to obtain a user guide. Thanks Richard |

I have what I imagine is a similar monitor, a 1510 (15" instead of 14", but of similar vintage). I was hoping to find you a link to a user guide, but the Compaq (HP) website seems to no longer acknowledge that either of our monitors ever existed! There should be (hopefully assuming model similarity) a panel below and to the left of the knobs which, when opened (push to release, I think... it's not in front of me at present), reveals several pairs of pushbuttons that let you control size, position, and so on. It's likely you've discovered it already; if not take a look, and good luck! -Mark |

Thank you Mark! I did not notice the panel until you mentioned it.
