Presario S3250NL no shutdown
Hi,
A problem from the beginning with this type of computer. The store has no solution, so maybe an expert here has an idea where to search for the problem? Windows XP SP1 the computer restarts instead of shut down. Yesterday I installed SP2, but that didn't help. systemnr: DF166A an AMD Athlon, made in the The Netherlands I try a different BIOS setting but that didn/t help too. In the hardware section in XP an ACPI computer is active. It's driving me mad, so please help!!! Maurits |

Maurits This is often caused by a system error at shutdown with the error control set to Restart on Error. Open Device Manager, Advanced tab, the bottom button Startup and Recovery Settings. On the Startup and Recovery tab, System Failure section, uncheck Automatically Restart and check Write an event to the system log. Click OK and Reboot. Now, when you next shut down, you will get a blue screen error and write down the exact text. On the next boot, open Administrative Tools control panel, Event Viewer, System and find the red error, report the entire description here with the previous description. Q |

Here is the BSOD dump: IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL STOP: 0x0000000A (0x000002F4), 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x80700A16 From the event report log (Dutch translated into English) The machine debug manager-service cannot start because of the next problem: cannot find the localised (expected?) file. (dutch: opgegeven bestand) I know at the early days of Windows computing IRQ not less or equal faults are most of the time hardware/driver conflicts. Any idea's for the next step? Thanks a lot again for your help so far! Maurits |
