Default Compaq Evo W8000 - capacity of IDE disc?

I have a Compaq Evo W8000 running Window 2000 Professional. I use it
for processing video material. Presently, I'm using internal and
external Ultra-160 SCSI discs.

Since the motherboard provides four IDE ports, one of which has the CD
drive hanging off it, I plan on fitting a pair of 500Gb EIDE hard discs,
and spanning them to provide 1 Terabyte.

Does anyone know whether this PC can handle 500Gb discs, or if there is
a lower limit, what that is?
