2100 new motherboard possibilities?
Well... a while back I discovered the hard way that the 2100 doesn't
support the big WD drive that had run nicely for a year without a driver that was on the drive that it couldn't access one day because it couldn't access the drive because it didn't have the driver that was on the drive it couldn't access, etc. etc. etc..... anyway, i like the no-tools case on this thing and was wondering if there are any more modern motherboards that might fit, knowing how nonstandard dell tends to get. thanks in advance. |

Sadly, the Dim2100 was the very LAST entry-level machine in that L chassis. So that is the fastest OEM board for that case. Start over, and start with a retail case with power supply for your new board. You'll thank yourself in the long run. Or just move up to a newer OEM box, preferably a P4. Plenty of them out there for a reasonable cost. |

The Dim2200 was the last in the L chassis: http://support.dell.com/support/edoc...ur.htm#1101572 I wouldn't bother with a board upgrade in that chassis, as I posted earlier. |
