"Fully Tested" memory.
I had a quick question. When I see some of the more "inexpensive"
memory being sold on ebay, they are described as being "fully tested". Why does brand-new memory need to be tested by the seller? |

Because it's crap memory sold by some fly-by-night operation out of mainland China who doesn't do any testing of their own. Do yourself a favor and AVOID this crap. "Fully tested" really means "I booted the system up, it posted and got into Windows for at least 10 seconds". Stick to decent, BRAND NAME memory, not only do you get better quality that actually IS tested properly and comes with a lifetime warranty, but it's also almost always cheaper than the crap sold on eBay. Checking some quick prices for 512MB PC3200 DIMMs shows that most dealers on eBay are charging $50-$60. www.newegg.com carries 512MB PC3200 DIMMs, brand name stuff for $50. You can even buy memory from the likes of Kingston, Crucial and Mushkin there for under $60. Buying new computer components from eBay is a REALLY dumb idea. ------------- Tony Hill hilla underscore 20 at yahoo dot ca |
