ISA SCSI scanner on Parallel/USB port?
Is there a way to use a SCSI scanner (with an ISA interface card)
attached to a parallel or USB port? thanks, max (it's an old trust imagery 4800sp) |

I connected a Microteck X6EL scsi scanner thru usb using 3 different type of usb-to-scsi adapters..The only software that would work
with it was Vuescan.. This is because Vuescan does not require/use a Twain driver..Get yourself a PCI scsi card or a new scanner and save yourself the grief.. wrote in message ... I just sold a PCI scsi card on ebay for $15 so I know they are out there.
If you're using a laptop then look for an Adaptec SlimSCSI pcmcia card - works like a charm for my Nikon LS-2000 - depending on your scanner's plug style you may have some adaptor hoops to jump through. The SlimSCSI plug I own is 50 pin High density male - not sure if they make other versions (like Centronics or DB25). Mark PS I do have a "Centronics Male" to "50 pin High Density Female" converter I'd like to get rid of if anyone is interested $5 plus shipping - I used it with the SlimSCSI and an old Polaroid SprintScanner. (oh and I'll throw in a passive terminator for free (Centronics Male). |
