Default Pin-Mod Athlon XP 1600

Hello
My MoBo : ABit KT-7 and i'v bought Athlon XP 1600 so it runs at 10,5x100
but i found some information about pin-mod at site :
http://www.ocinside.de/go_e.html?/ht..._painting.html
and my question is :
if I connect the pins to get 15x100 everything will be ok or mayby
before i do this i will have to connect L1 bridges?

Thanks for reply.

so if I connect L1 bridges I will be albe use the pin-mod do get
multiplier 14x or 15x with 102MHz FSB so = 1530MHz equal XP 1800+
is correct?

If you connect the L1 bridges, you can use the bios to change the
multiplier from 7-12.5. Since you want to go higher than that, I'd suggest
you do as I did and don't connect the L1 bridges and just change the
default multiplier to 16 using the L3, L4, and L10 bridges. That would let
you set the FSB up to adjust the speed from 1600MHz up to about 1850MHz.
If you decide to connect the L1 bridges and use the pinmod, be sure and
read the pinmod guide about disabling bios control of the multiplier.
Don't use the pinmod for vcore control. Use the bios settings.

Another option, and the most versitile, would be to connect the L1 bridges
of the cpu and add a SPDT switch across Pin AJ27 and any Vcc pin of the
socket. That way you can control all 32 multiplier settings using the
switch to set either the upper or lower half and the bios to set the value.

Thanks a lot and I've a one question.
When I put athlon xp 1600 in my MoBo Abit KT7(no Raid) and when I get
into BIOS - SoftMenu III Setup - CPU Operating Speed somethnig changes
because setting ( 500,550,600,650, ...) disappeard and only User Defined
stayed so it means that I can't disable bios control of the multiplier
or I do smoething wrong.

Do you have any special method to cut the bridges?
Thanks

I used a pocket knife the first time, and I cut it way too deep, although
it didn't damage the cpu. A small sharp bladed instrument of about any
kind will do it. Exacto knife would be perfect I would think.

I try this method cut and connect bridges L3, L4, L10 to get x16 multiplier.
What is te max. multiplier for this MoBo:
ABIT KT7 ?
And it is possible to put in this mobo other CPU like Athlon, Barton or
Sempron?
TBred works as you wrote http://mysite.verizon.net/res0exft/cpu.htm.

The max multiplier recognized by the CPU is 24x. The max you can set with
any MB that doesn't have control for bit 5 is 12.5. If the board has full
control for all 5 bits, then it can select any of the settings up to 24x.
Adding the spdt between AJ27 and vcc would accomplish this for any board
that only has 4 bit control. OTOH, if you put a cpu that has de fault
multiplier of 13 or higher into a board with 4 bit multiplier control,
then you only have access to the upper multiplier settings, 13-24x.

And it is possible to put in this mobo other CPU like Athlon, Barton or
Sempron?

They are basically all the same. The problem is that the newer cpu have
locked multipliers and can't be easily overcome. All the info about this
is in the Link below, Don't see any reason to type it all again.
