Here's what I built...
Antec Sonata Case w/ 380W PS - $99
AMD 2600+ (333 FSB) - $94 (Frys special included ECS mobo) ECS N2U400A Mother board - $0 CoolerMaster heat sink + fan - $10 Pioneer DVR-107 8X DVD burner - $150 Gigabyte Radeon 9200 video card w/ 128 MB - $69 2x512 MB sticks (1 GB) of PC2700 memory (Crucial) - 2x$82=$164 Used an old 20 GB hard disk I already had laying around - will probably upgrade it soon... Total cost: $586 + $15 to ship the case (free shipping or store purchase on everything else)... I was looking to spend around $600, so I think I did pretty good! If I wasn't such a memory hog, it would have been closer to $500. The case is a joy to work with, but not as quiet as I had hoped. It's not loud by any means, but my Dell at work is MUCH quieter. |
