Default Epson Repairs in UK

Hi all

Anyone know of a repair firm that repairs Epson Photo printers in the UK,
apart from Epson uk.

One of the contacts for the chip on the black cartridge snapped off, I
presume I will need the complete head changed.

Is going to be worth doing.

Thanks

Paul

Epson don't repair their own units, they sub-contract to a company called
Equinox. As for whether it's worth doing, I've no idea as you don't state
the model. If it's an original Stylus Color, then obviously not, but if it's
a newer model, an 890 or newer then maybe it is.

Paul,

If this is any help I contacted Epson a few months ago to cost repairs for
760 Stylus printer and they gave a quote for over £90 - which apparently
their standard charge for whatever needs to be done.

I've had dealings with Equinox, and my advice would be to stay well clear of
them. I can't go into full details here, but I have recently spoken with an
ex Equinox technician who confirmed to me that they use 2nd hand parts yet
charge for new parts when they repair printers.

I've had a machine 1270 go there for repair under warranty, that failed
again within weeks, then on another occasion I broke the head on the same
printer and was quoted £300+ for repair. Of course I didn't accept the
quote - and despite long drawn out discussions and correspondence - even
with my local trading standards office - they have refused to return my
printer.

Use them at your peril!!

Unfortunately, I cannot remember the name of the company that serviced my
890, but I know it was not Equinox. I got the name of the company by
contacting Epson direct on 08701 637766 and they gave me the name of the
closest repair company to where I live. My printer was out of warranty.

Give Epson a call on the number I have given and maybe they can do the same
for you,

Hope this helps,
Martin
