lifecam 1000 problems

hi all ive recently purchased alifecam 1000 it installed fine, but
after installation using supplied cd, my pc started to run incredibly
slow ie 20 mins just to open my docs. even after restart iwas using a
logitech cam before and had removed all drivers for it tried
uninstalling and reinstall made no differrence managed to get it
working just with pre installed generic drivers hard ware wizard found
but have none of the built infunctions also tried updated driver from
micro soft website again no change once cd drivers were uninstalled pc
worked fine my specs are
dell dimension 3100
win xp media center
nvidia 6200 pci
onboard sound
120gig hard drive
1gig ram
pent4 3.0 mhz processor
any help would be appricieated
