Default Have I made a mistake? Bought from MESH :)

I have parted with £2500 to buy my new PC from MESH.

SPECS:
2 X 250GB SETA DRIVES
SONY DVD REWRITER +R -R
19" DIGITAL SONY MONITOR
19" CRT SECONDARY DISPLAY
256MB GEFORCE FX GRAPHICS
1024MB 400MHZ RAM
ATHLON 64BIT FX53 3400+ CPU

Anyway, paid for and due to be delivered in sometime next week. I was
horrified to read the views and opinions in the newsgroup, seems people
really dont like MESH. I have a background in PC Maintenance and can build
a PC from scratch (have done on several occassions), but I got lazy and
decided to fork out for an out of the box system. Used DELL before, very
impressed, but the STATS of this MESH PC are the best I could find.

Anyway, sorry for rambling. Ill let you all know how I get on with MESH.

Gary.

I'm sure there are many people on this group that could have build the same
spec system for cheaper and offered you better afterservice.

Mesh hardware is usually very good & often cheaper than you can buy the
components for - it is their aftersales that can let them down.
If you have a background in PC maintenance I'm sure that you can sort
anything yourself.

You've spent £2500 on a machine with an out of date graphics card.

Well done. That was clever.

you must be crazy to spend that much on a pc
stay one step behind the pack - that machine will be worth about £500 this
time next year.much better to get something for around £500 now and then
change your system in one or two years.
getting the latest and greatest is just throwing money away.
you have 7 days to return anything anyway due to new regulations... my
advice is get someone on here to build you a great system for about 500 quid
and be patient to go 64 bit... nothing works at 64 bit anyway yet!

The machine was ordered and paid for 5 weeks ago, the actual system was not
released until a week ago. I requested this graphics card, as it was the
cheapest config, I also have an NV40 on order from SCAN, getting shipped
soon. One of them is going in my 8 month old Dell.

I hear this a lot, but to be honest, and maybe risk sounding arrogant, I am
this wreckless with cash with everything else, so why not a PC? I can
afford it at the mo, without going hungry, so why not.

Im not rich, even though I long to be. I have a very good wage, hence the
PC. I am confident of being rich one day!

Feeling a little jealous per chance? I've got an old 486 you can have
if you're looking to upgrade.
