Default Disk Drive Upgrade failure "NTLDR" missing

My old Presario notebook has a full 5 gig drive. So I upgraded to a
new 20 Gig drive. Form factor is the same pin outs etc. I cloned the
disk using Ghost. I confirmed that the drive is good by booting up on
my desktop computer. But when I install it in the Presario, I get an
"NTLR" is missing. Also, I can tell that the disk motor is not turning
because I don't hear the motor humming. Can anyone tell me if Compaq
has modified the power pins on the notebook? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

You don't say what model laptop, so it's hard to say. If I had to guess, I'd
say your BIOS doesn't support a 20GB drive. Probably limited to 8GB.
