Default FreeBSD + XFree86 4.3.0 + Parhelia = success

Since the XFree86 driver architecture is OS independent, I figured I'd
give the 0.3.0 Linux driver a try, and it works perfectly. Here's how:

- install XFree86 4.3.0
- get matrox driver for linux
- run self extracting package to extract files
- ignore the installation error
- copy mtx_drv.o /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers
- use the appropriate sample configuration as a template for your
configuration; add "Options Busmastering No" to the device section.
- enjoy!

observations:
- no kernel module means you have to disable busmastering,
so the card is not as fast as it could be.
- i only have a single monitor (DVI panel) setup right now, so i
can't say anything about dual/triple configurations, but i don't
see why they should not work.

cheers,
-stephan

Default

sorry, forgot to mention: this is a FreeBSD-4.8 setup, though I guess
that any other version (including -CURRENT) also works.
