Acrobat Import from Scanner doesn't work

Acrobat 5.0 under windows 2000.
Umax Astra 2000U, driver 3.55 for win2000.

The same driver work alone.
The same driver works from Adobe photoshop 6.0.

But when import from acrobat 5.0 it always said:
" Cannot complete because of a problem in device."

single side page or double side;
reinstall one or both;
with vistascan on or off;

nothing helps.

The old driver for win 98 worked fine under win 98 with
acrobat 5.0. Just upgraded to win2000 pro, 2000U driver 3.55,
reinstalled photoshop6.0 and acrobat5.0.

That is probably where your problem lies. Do a clean install of 2k if
you can. Maybe to a separate partition ?

Otherwise, make sure the registry is cleaned out when you uninstall and
the twain folders are cleaned out when you uninstall.
