My Antec TPN-650 "exploded"!
The Antec TruePower New 650W was bought on 08 Oct, 2009!
Smoke came out of the power supply. When I removed it from the case, some light yellow liquid came out. Fortunately, the motherboard was not harmed. So... what could that light yellow fluid be? -- @~@ Might, Courage, Vision, SINCERITY. / v \ Simplicity is Beauty! Capacitor electrolyte leaking out?
BTW, isn't electrolyte from a capacitor acidic? My skin was not burnt.... -- @~@ Might, Courage, Vision, SINCERITY. / v \ Simplicity is Beauty! Fortunately, the motherboard was not harmed. So... what could that light yellow fluid be? Something an "over the shoulder" spare possibly won't have when the occasion next arises. Power supplies are like a flat tire or dead battery to an otherwise mechanically sound car. Something that's going to happen, regardless a good value for a respected brand. Yellow sounds much better than one I had "leaking" radiation (adversely affecting a tape drive). |
