Default Raid 0 - to get or not

Depends on the controller.

Hi,

If I order a Micron PC with 2 hard drives I have to get the RAID 0
SATA controller.

If anybody has experience with this configuration, can you please tell
me if it is possible to disable the RAID configuration so that the
system actually sees 2 drives.

Also can those drives be partitioned?

Appreciate any and all help.

Since partitioning is an OS issue and not a controller issue,
if you can see both drives as individual drives, then you can
partition them.

However is they are not flexible enough to give you what you want,
you should probably buy somewhere else. Sice RAID-0 is a really bad
idea unless you are desperate for speed, I am somewhat surprised
they only offer this option.

Arno
