Backup Tools
Hi All,
I'm using selfmade scripts together with afio/cpio to backup about 120GB on DDS3 tapes (I know that there are better medias to store 120GB on, but "the management" does not support better equipment). Although everything works, I'm looking for a tool that enables me to restore files easier, i.e. when I need to restore a file from tape#5 of a certain backup, today I need to read through all tapes sequentially since afio/cpio work that way. Is there any tool that is able to detect the tape# on which the file I want to restore is on, so that I only need to insert the specific tape (even commercial solutions)? Regards, Joerg |
