Default Fibre drives and L180 in SAN

We have an L180 with 2 scsi to fibre converters (crossroads?) for the
Libary and 4 DLT drives. We also just added 2 LTO gen 2 drives (fiber
not scsi and not configured yet).

I want to put the L180 and the 2 new drives onto a SAN (mcData
switches).
The L180 and 2 new drives are in one building and the switches are in
another building.
The L180 and 2 fiber drives are multimode but the fiber between the
buildings is single mode. Also, plenty of fiber for L180 and each
drive to have its own fiber pair.
The McData switch is multimode.

Now can you place a multimode to singlemode converter and a singlemode
to multimode converter in that configuration? Would that work with
Fiber Channel?

Thanks.
M.
