Does A4 positive flatbed scanner does exists anymore?

Hi,
I'm searching for a client a positive A4 flatbed scanner wich can be
driven with Silverfast. I'm searching something consistent and
truecolor.
After looking into the net I have no answer, it seems contemporary A4
scanners are "bling-bling" toys.
Anybody have suggestions and experience.

The master reason this A4 choice of an A4 is, as you suppose, the
price...

I am not really sure what you are asking here,
I am currently looking for an A4 scanner in Australia
and I find the new buzz word is "multi function" which is no interest to me.

My choices of dedicated scanners seem to be (in AUD)

Canon LiDE600F $249 (CIS no depth of field)
Canon canoscan 8800F $299
Epson V200 $249

I wanted also a book scanner, like the HP "see through"
which is now out of date
So I am tossing up whether to go to the Epson 1500GT at $599
which has an ADF
