Please tell me you're not going to use ANC instead of Citylink! ANC
couldn't deliver (or collect - I've sent stuff with them too via my old
work!) a parcel if you held their hand all the way!

But when you compare CityLink complains with ANC, you will see that ANC is
far better than CityLink!

We are ditching City Link ASAP but ANC have taken ages to get the

software
we need to us. It's here now and I'm hoping we can start using them on
Monday.

You can't keep everyone happy. Different couriers are poor in different
parts of the country. The only semi consistent theme is that no one likes
City Link.

I used to send things via ANC as well as receive them. We had about a 1
in 3 failure rate, if they bothered to collect it. When (not if)
something went missing, they'd deny all knowledge and it would take ages
to sort it out. The only thing ANC is good for is if you really, really
want to loose something!

I have a friend who used to work in the industry, ANC dropped their
prices a year or two ago, and got a lot of new accounts. Within a few
months most of those new accounts had been closed due to bad service.

ANC are bottom of the pile, at least Citylink might put a card through
your door. ANC are lucky if it makes it out the sorting depot in the
first place!

CityLink would have to go through a dramatic improvement to achieve a
1 in 3 failure rate. Current level of failure to my address is 100%!

*Might* put a card the door, but they normally just don't even bother
turning up. Then they lie on the tracking status, claiming either
they couldn't find the premises (a house on a well sign-posted main
road and has been here for over seventy years!) or the customer wasn't
present and was carded, when in fact there was someone in all day and
the van didn't even bother to turn up.

On several occasions I've had cards only because the driver completed
one in the cab, left the parcel in his van and sprinted up the drive
with the card. And yes, I've *seen* them do this! On one occasion I
happened to see the van pull-up and sprinted to the door in time to
open it as the driver was about to post the card (without knocking!);
he was downright rude and evidently did not appreciate the
inconvenience of having to go back to his van and rummage through it
to find my parcel.

Service in my area is so appalling that I've had to stop using many
otherwise good suppliers simply because they use CityLink and it's
simply not worth the time and hassle.

ANC certainly don't have the best of reputations but they have managed
to deliver a parcel on time to the correct address in living memory;
something which can't be said of CityLink!

With some exceptions, some people in here have reported excellent
service from them.

I gather most, if not all, the depots are franchised so quality varies
wildly from area to area, but they do seem to be the most complained
about courier.

At my home in Cambridgeshire, City Link are *excellent* - no problems
whatsoever. However, at my university address here in Nottingham the
story is completely different. Their ilkeston delivery depot is surely
the worst in the UK - agreed Paul?

I've no direct experience of any of their other depots, but it's
difficult to image they could get any worse than Ilkeston! ;-)

City Link are by far the best in my area both collecting and delivering, ANC
are sadly very poor.

Anyone recommend a good priced courier that performs well all over the
country?
