Default Why can't some files be deleted?

Hi,

this avi film I got of a bbs does not allow it self to be deleted!
It's attributes are not read only or any kind of protection.

So why can't it be deleted? This is driving me crazy.

If it's still in memory, it can't be deleted. If the program you used to
view it is still running (even in the background) you won't be able to
delete the file. Reboot and then try to delete it. If no luck. . . Reboot
to safe mode and then try to delete it. -Dave

Boot into safe mode. This will make sure no other program has the file
open.
Get into a DOS (CMD) Box and do attrib -r -h -s file.ext
Then del file.ext

I get this occasionally, I rename the file, which can take a few trys too,
then it lets me delete it. Not yet had to resort to safe mode or DOS to
remove a file.
