sigh Is this a wind-up?

Open up Internet Explorer.
Browse to www.google.com
Enter a search string such as "repair compaq laptop power socket"
or similar.
Click "pages from the UK", then the Search button.

If you cannot cope with that, I'll get it sorted for you. Send me
your laptop together with a blank signed cheque and I'll return
your laptop in brand spanking new condition, including 12 months
warranty.

You don't need to be a genius of any kind to use a web search page.
So it seemed bizarre to me that you appeared to be OK asking for
help in a news group (which the average Internet user wouldn't
recognise if it fell on 'em) but then had a blonde blackout about
using Google. I genuinely began to wonder if some assh*le was
taking the p*ss!
