Default DMI Verifying Pool Data

my PB 2000, running Win98, won't boot up.

when I boot up from CD or floppy, it hangs with the message "dmi verifying pool
data."

Ideas?

thanks to AOL 9.0 Plus, this message is elector proof.

Hey Kook, RTFM, Jerk Wad: See your still lying. You would not know a
filter if it jumped up and bit you. You big PHONY.
to show that I am not without compassion even to a lying, troll, kook
the answer is below:

What you need to do is boot to floppy and run fdisk/mbr. Your
operating system or another program has corrupted your boot sector.
note if you can't boot to floppy change your cmos so it will only boot
to floppy disabling all
other choices including boot to other device. Once you have fixed your
boot sector don't forget to go to cmos and change back your boot to
selections.

If you cannot get to the boot sequence: [To the floppy]

Try changing the boot sequence from c,a to a,c

If the fdisk/mbr does not cure the problem then it is a huge
possibility that your hard drive is kaput. How to verify this is via
the placement of a new hard drive into the machine and see if the DMI
error returns. if it does not, the replace the hard drive.

This link gives very good information on other known issues with this
error message http://www.qdi.nl/support/dmipool.htm maybe someone can
teach you how to read so you can benefit from it. LOSER

Barbara: You will find a discussion of your issue at this link.
(http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000474.htm) This issue can be caused
by any of the following:

1. Corrupt boot files on the computer.
2. Settings for hard disk drive are not correct.
3. Boot devices not set properly.
4. BIOS corrupt or misc. setting not set properly.
5. Connections loose or disconnected.
6. Bad Hard disk drive or other bad hardware.

Hey Loser, Now your asking questions as "Barbara" and answering as "."
what a complete loser you are.

Oh I was happy to answer your question when you posted as your AOL
alter. Moron.

Maybe your AOL 9.1.2.3.5.6.7 Filters will not show my reply. Idiot.

or the newest one

Where helpful Links and Files are there with no kook or troll posts

Jack -- This is the formal definition of Usenet spam from J.D.Falk's
excellent Net Abuse FAQ. I have seen the occasional advertisement on this
newsgroup, but I doubt we have yet seen any SPAM on our group. We have not
seen the same post appear X times. Thanks for asking your question. I hope
that helped!
=============================================
2.1) What is Spam?

It's a luncheon meat, kinda pink, comes in a can, made by Hormel. Most
Americans intuitively, viscerally associate "Spam" with "no nutritive or
aesthetic value," though it is still relatively popular (especially in
Hawaii) and can be found in almost any grocery store.) The canned luncheon
meat has its own newsgroup, alt.spam.

The term "spam," as used on this newsgroup, means "the same article (or
essentially the same article) posted an unacceptably high number of times to
one or more newsgroups." CONTENT IS IRRELEVANT. 'Spam' doesn't mean "ads."
It doesn't mean "abuse." It doesn't mean "posts whose content I object to."
Spam is a funky name for a phenomenon that can be measured pretty
objectively: did that post appear X times? (See 3.1, "Yeah, but how many is
X?')

There have been "customized" spams where each post made some effort to apply
to each individual newsgroup, but the general thrust of each article was the
same. A huge straw poll on news.admin.policy, news.admin.misc, and
alt.current-events.net-abuse (December 1994) showed that as many of 90% of
the readers felt that cancellations for these posts were justified. So,
simply put: if you plan to post the same or extremely similar messages to
dozens of newsgroups, the posts are probably going to get cancelled.

If you feel that a massive multi-post you are planning constitutes an
exception, you are more than welcome to run the idea past the readers of
news.admin.net-abuse.usenet for feedback first.
