physical block size
How safely can i assume that the block size of a spindle,
whether its from a JBOD or from a RAID array is 512 bytes ? Thanks |

IIRC some Asian drives have used 1024-byte sector sizes, and of course SCSI supports variable sector sizes (and some vendors do use this feature - IBM i-series systems use a 520-byte sector size, Unisys systems uses multiple strange sizes). - bill |
