Block level backup
Hi everyone,
I have a problem that probably most of you have seen. We have a an app which archives thousands of jpeg images daily(4000). They are stored in a Dell PV220S. I chose this kind of storage (I am not at all an storage expert) because high end SAN's were too expensive(a NAS was not an option due this problem), and I thought that block level backup was common. Until now, file level backups to a NFS share have done the job, but I'm reaching the point where this is not longer true. I never thought that I would reach it so fast, so I need a software for windows which can do efficient backups in this scenario. I know that I should have done my homework *before*, but I have had too much work in this months, and, to be honest, this app is important but not critical to our company, and I'm budget costrained. Every recommendation about software and hardware will be appreciated. May be I could justify a much higher cost if the solution works for backing up iSeries, DB2 and SQL Server Databases. Thanks in advance, Samuel |
