Optorite Combi DVD/CDRW 48x24x48x16
I upgraded my ancient Gateway system last week with the above device
(I was actually only looking for a DVD player but this was only £10 more. I am using the writing capabilities mainly for creating music CDs. My problem - all the music CDRs I have produced so far (4 of the little blighters) recorded OK according to Nero and play fine in CD players until they reach the end. Then each of them plays an extra 2 minutes (approx) of silence before "hanging" and requiring manual intervention. The same characteristic has been observed on my car CD, HiFi CD and a portable player. This includes both "disk-copies" and CDs produced from WAV files. In the Optorite unit, the playback (using MusicMatch) is fine, with the CD finishing playing as expected. I am using the latest version of Nero 5, and the key bits of my poor old system a 350MHz PII 192MB RAM 10Gb Hard Drive (about 2/3 full) Any ideas guys?? |
