MX400, No Boot at all on DVI, fine on analog
I have a Asus Terminator 2 that I put a Rosewill MX400 card in so that
I could get a DVI connection to a Iiyama Prolite 17" monitor. Connect it analog and it works fine. Connect it DVI and the computer will not boot, literally. I get the Asus splash screen, then when it should start to load XP it just hangs there and I get nothing, no HD activity, nothing. If I unplug the DVI cable, let the computer boot until I see the HD light going, then plug back in the DVI cable I end up with video once it reaches the desktop. Tried 2 different DVI cables that work fine on other systems. Asus Terminator 2(the cheaper one w/ out radio) Celeron 'D' 2.4 Ghz. 256 meg Corsair PC3200 DDR Rosewill MX400 AGP Card Lite On 52X CD RW Iilyama 17" Pro Lite Monitor No OC'ing, nothing out of the ordinary. Thanks in advance. |

Thanks in advance. I'm not 100% sure of this, but I'm pretty sure I remember someone having problems with the PC not booting without a monitor attatched (to standard VGA). Solution was to change the "Halt on" (usually "all errors") setting in the BIOS, usually on the "Standard" settings page where you configure the IDE devices/Floppy drives & system time. I can't remember the setting, but if you go in to BIOS and cycle through the options it should be fairly self explanitory. HTH |
