Using a HP Surestore DLT VS80 Autoloader on a Proliant 6400?
LC -- (or anyone else that knows)..
Can I used the above autoloader w/o problems on a Proliant 6400 w/o any issues? Just curious since I've got someone locally selling one for $200 that was just taken out of service and I believe it's in working order (but am checking that fact).. Also, if you know, are these things reliable? Also, if anyone knows -- can these be used under Linux with regular old software? Thanks! |

yah, that will work with a 6400 ... the thing to keep in mind is that most
backup software thinks of that as a "library" or "changer". Most normal backup software will have add-ons to give you access to the advanced features of that device. I like the VS80 personally, and have set several of them up. Mostly I use NetBackup, or BackupExec. You shouldnt have any problem under linux, but you will probably want to use a real backup suite with that device. - LC "Rick F." wrote in message ... LC -- (or anyone else that knows).. I've emailed the dude that has it and as about 45% of my replies go to various Craigslist users, this guy is just not interested in replying.. yet.. I just don't get why people put up ad's and don't have any interest in replying to those interested in getting their "stuff".. Anyway, perhaps this guy will eventually reply, but nothing yet for the past couple of days.. |
