Default PC Fan Filter?

Hi all,
Starting to hunt for parts to build a new box (my last build was 3years
ago) and one of the things that caught my attention are fan filters.

Are the fan filters effective against dust? If so, how much of an impact are
they on airflow? Any recommendations on brand? Place to purchase?

Thanks much.

Definitely. Mine always seems to have a carpet of crap on it after a
month.

they on airflow?

Very minimal.

Any recommendations on brand?

Yep...wife's nylons 1.01. Get a pair of your wife/girlfriends nylons
and use those.

:-) I guess so, if you want to keep the dust in your PS box.
The PS fan is an exhaust fan which basically pulls air through
the system. So, except for keeping the fan itself clean (filter
inside the PS box), I don't see the purpose.

Maybe a filter on the cpu fan may keep dirt out of the heatsink.
However, if you forget to change the filter, you may wind up
with an overheated cpu.

Just an opinion.....

LOL!! Interesting suggestion on the nylons. I've been told they're effective
against leeches if you're out in the tropical jungles, now it's good for
case filtering. Is there anything they can't do??

Thanks for the feedback.

They also make a very useful `stand in` fan belt for your car g.

Thanks for the feedback.

One would hope that the original poster would know to only put the
filters on the intake fans and not the exhaust fans.
