Default Hardware Virus Protection

I have a Phoenix Award BIOS which supposedly has virus protection for the
MBR. I want to turn it off in order to install linux on a disk I added,

but
I don't see an option when I go into the BIOS.

Is there an alternate way of turning it off, e.g. a utility, or a mobo
jumper setting?

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm sure it's there somewhere...have another look
or maybe see if they have a manual on their website.

BTW: even if virus protection is enabled...you often can write to the mbr
anyway...
you typically just get a message asking if you want to write to the mbr
