Default power supply

Helo all

I will be buying a Asustek S478 Intel 845PE ATX A L R with a P4 2.66 512KB
S478 processor, and having looked at all the Atx cases on Dabs, they range
from 180 watt to 400 watt, some are even marked as 12 volt, soory if this
sounds like a silly questtion, but how do I know what wattage my mainboard
and cpu will work at, I live in the UK with a 240 volt power supply if it
helps

Thanks

Dave

Go for a 400 watt atx powersupply. You'll be good when you want to upgrade
your system in the future. My powersupply is 500 watt from levicom (very
silent).

Any power supply sold in the UK will have a transformer switchable to
240VAC. It will drop that voltage and convert it to DC so your computer can
use it. Choose a power supply rated for 350W minimum. Sparkle, Enermax, and
Antec are all good brands. Since these run around the £50 range, it may be
more cost effective to find a case sold with a PSU.
