Default Found culprit in performance degradation...

Well, like I said in an earlier thread, I had been on a long hiatus in my
game playing. Reverting back to the 28.32 detonator drivers was something I
wanted to do anyway, but it did not solve the 'lag' problem I was having.

The culprit was the Microsoft IntelliType driver for my Microsoft Natural
Multimedia Keyboard. I edited it out of the
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run hive in the registry, and
the performance degredation has gone away completely.
