Default Question about laptop updating priorities

If I'm wanting to update my laptop only because, all of the video
images, graphics, etc., on web sites can't be speedily handled by my
1.58 Ghz, 1 GB RAM, what should my priority be? The processor speed,
RAM or reserved memory for video? I know all are important, but what
will defeat my purpose if I overlook it?

I've been looking at the Intel i5, 2.4 Ghz, 4 or 6 GB RAM, 128 MB
dedicated video memory. I saw one laptop with 512 MB for *video memory*
somewhere [don't remember brand], which raised this question for me.

My procrastination bit me yesterday. After following Frank's link to
CompUSA found one of the laptops I had been looking at, for $86 less
than Best Buy wanted. So... I had to compare the features again, to
all the bookmarks of other laptops/locations. When I went back last
night it said "Unavailable", and today is $6 less than Best Buy. LOL...

I'm not a computer person and only lap top I have is the one bought for
my wife, but I think a choke point is ram. Don't know how easy it would
be on your lap top to upgrade but it has been fairly easy on my desktops
and memory from Crucial is fairly cheap. Belarc Advisor will tell you
what you have and Crucial will tell you what you can expand to.

Oh, I'm buying a new laptop for me, and giving mine to my daughter.
That's why I want to be sure I don't scrimp on what is most important in
handling these over loaded web site graphics. My laptop is fine for
what she needs.

Thanks for your response!
