Default First time builder seeking help.

I would recommend getting a single stick of memory, 1gb, instead of the
2x512mb. It will cost less and save you room for upgrading later. Here
is Corsair Value in a 1gb stick form.

Also, I think I would consider going with an ATI X1600XT. Its cheaper,
and will run all of the new software and shaders and stuff thats coming
out. It has higher clocks than the X800 also.

Not good advice. His motheboard supports dual channel ddr so 2 sticks of ram
is optimal.

Well atleast still check out the X1600XT instead if you are stuck on
dual channel.
But if you want dual channel, just wait and save a little more and go
2x1gb sticks, much more worth it.

dawg, please indicate some benchmarks showing that dual channel is a big
deal.
