Upgrade without OS reinstall?
On Apr 4, 11:26*am, Fitz wrote:
I'm upgrading my wife's computer - motherboard, processor, memory, and video card. OS is Windows 7 Pro 64. Old motherboard is ASUS M3A with DDR2, processor was dual core going to quad with DDR3 memory. Video card was GeForce 9800 going to Geforce 465GX. Will I need to reinstall the OS or can I just remove the IDE controller and install the new driver after the hardware change? Will Windows allow it, or is that too much hardware and Windows will detect it as a new computer requiring install and registration? Thanks -- OS has to reinstalled... I used old OS and never registered no matter how many I reinstalled OS. I think new OS like Windows 7 came with very strong security issue that user has to re-registered again and again. I'm sure new OS comes with more security issue thing.. For example, I don't like the latest WMP version comes with manditory registering issue so I never used that one. I don't even like running any virus program slowing down the computer... |
