Default No 64 bit drivers for Canon 3200F

Canon tell me that they do not intend to bring out drivers for this
scanner to run under Windows XP 64 bit.

As the device is only about two years old this seems to be a good
argument for people not to consider Canon when looking for any
computer peripheral.

Or will someone else produce drivers for it - doubtful I should think.

They haven't produced any drivers for any scanners for 64 bit O/Ses. There
may be some hints over at www.planetamd64.com but we're all bored of waiting
for both printer and scanner drivers!
