Default Looking for Software RAID 1 for Windows 7

Are there any good vendors that make a software RAID 1 package for Windows
7? What I would like to do is essentially the same capability I get with
"Dynamic" drives under Windows Server: I want to be able to make a mirror
image of a drive while it is actively in use, primarily as a real-time
backup. Periodically I would archive the backup drive and then replace it
with a drive that the software would then rebuild into the RAID array.

I know Veritas Storage Foundation does this, but it does not work on any
platform but Windows Server? Are there any third party alternatives?

If you have Windows 7 Enterprise or Ultimate, then you can make mirrored
or spanned dynamic volumes. Unfortunately, striping and RAID5 aren't
available on these desktop versions.

Just remember that a raid "backup" will also backup any user errors,
file deletions, viruses, filesystem corruption, etc., as soon as the
problem is made. So think /very/ hard if this is actually the right
solution for you - a second hard disk with regular syncs, copies or
backups is likely to be much more useful for protecting against
/realistic/ problems.
