Default XP Home service pack 3???

Well, I installed it. WHAT A PAIN!!!

The first time, everything froze and I had to cancel.

The second time was smoother, but it took 2-3 hours!!!

Anyway, all seems okay now.

two installs with no problems, I had a issue where the auto update would not
download until
I put a new version of windows validation tool on the system.

BEWARE if you have a comp with D-Link hardware.........

just updated my Quad which has the Wireless G510 installed and SP3 replaces
a file used by it.

Just installing D-Link drivers to see if that cures it.

Yes SP3 messes up D-Link software/drivers. Tried reinstalling via setup and
No go. Googling reveals there is a problem. Have reverted to windows
handling connection until D-Link posts a repair.......or someone does.

I did the install last night after upgrading a Lenovo 3000 N100 series
machine from Vista Home Premium to XP Home.

SP3 installed perfectly.
